Epilators: Needle, Electrolysis, and Tweezers
Tweezer epilators use electric current to remove hair. Epilators work by grasping your hair close to the skin, and energy is applied at the tip of the tweezer. I tweeze all the time. I usually use the tweezer method of hair removal for unwanted facial hair, especially around the upper lip and chin area. Now, tweezing can be tedious and can take a really long time. A few weeks ago I bought a tweezer epilator in hopes that it would cut the tweezing time in half or more. Sadly, I was not impressed: the epilator took bits of my skin on the bone of my right calf & at a closer look, I found that the epilator was actually breaking my hair follicles midway, taking some of your hair follicle out, but leaving the root and stubble. My vote is still with Laser Hair Removal.
Needle epilators use a fine wire close to your hair shaft, underneath your skin, and into your hair follicle. An electric current goes down the wire and kills your hair root at the bottom of your hair follicle. The loosened hair is then removed with tweezers. Again, my preference would still be Laser Hair Removal as it is the most effective and permanent.
Medical electrolysis devices destroy hair growth using a shortwave radio frequency after a thin probe is placed in your hair follicle. Risks & Side Effects from medical electrolysis are: infection from an unsterile needle and scarring if the electrolysis is not done properly. Like Laser Hair Removal in Lancaster, PA, Electrolysis is also considered a permanent hair removal method,
since it destroys your hair follicle. And like Laser Hair Removal in Lancaster, it requires you to have a series of electrolysis treatments over a specified amount of time.
