Is it true it’s mandatory to grow a beard in some parts of the Middle East?

They told me you are supposed to grow a beard. I don’t know if it’s true.

And if this is true, what happends if one is like me who can’t grow one?

Nope.

In some places, it may be a strong cultural thing to not ever cut your hair. Most people spend their entire lives there and don’t get many visitors, because they’re small villages, kind of like small towns. A lot of the middle east is misunderstood though, most of the population resides in big cities. It’s not as diverse as most US cities, but it is diverse enough not to make everyone grow a beard. If you’re interested in Middle Eastern cities, look up Dubai, Kuwait City, Abu Dhabi and Istanbul. They’re pretty interesting.

The Problem With Reading the Bible Using Our Human Understanding – dead letters

The problem with reading the bible using our human understanding – dead letters.

Many new Christians or immature sheep don’t understand that the bible can not be read with a logical human mind. Don’t get me wrong, we need to have a clear and healthy mind to read the bible of course, but to use the word within, we can not use our human logic. The bible is very simple and children can understand it yet it is as deep as the deepest ocean as no wise man can read it with sufficient human understanding. Paul said the letter kills but the Spirit giveth life. If we read the bible like any other book then it’s a good book on morals and character building with stories of reward and punishment, miracles and great prophetic utterances. And yes, we can pick up some good knowledge and wisdom as in the book of Proverbs. But, the scripture and word of God when it’s not in season can produce death and it can kill the user when applied inappropriately. On the contrary, when the word is in season and current like the Manna that fall from heaven it can be a life giving spring that bring hope.

 

So you may say how come this is so, it sounds like nonsense, but this is the truth. Let’s take some of the scriptures starting from the Old Testament.

 

1. 1. God said in his 10 commandments that no one should make an idol.

Exodus 20:4-5 (New International Version)

4 “You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,

Yet God told Moses to build an ark a copy of what is in heaven.

Genesis 6:14
So make yourself an ark of cypress wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out.

1. 2. God said that a holy man can not marry a prostitute but a virgin, yet he commanded that a Hosea to marry a harlot.

Leviticus 21:5-7 (New International Version)

5 ” ‘Priests must not shave their heads or shave off the edges of their beards or cut their bodies. 6 They must be holy to their God and must not profane the name of their God. Because they present the offerings made to the LORD by fire, the food of their God, they are to be holy.  7 ” ‘They must not marry women defiled by prostitution or divorced from their husbands, because priests are holy to their God.

Hosea 1:2 (New International Version)

2 When the LORD began to speak through Hosea, the LORD said to him, “Go, take to yourself an adulterous wife and children of unfaithfulness, because the land is guilty of the vilest adultery in departing from the LORD.”

1. 3. The bible says no one is righteous, meaning no man is righteous.

Romans 3:10
As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one;

So if Jesus was a man, how can he be righteous since no one is righteous, unless he was never a man. But we all knew he walked the earth as a man since he was born of Mary.

1. 4. Jesus is the Prince of Peace so he should be a peace giver right?

Isaiah 9:6
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Yet, this is what he said,

Matthew 10:34
“Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.

1. 5. The Lord God wants all to be saved for he deserve that none shall perish. Yet he did not pray for the world.

John 17:9
I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours.

1. 6. As Christian we should be kind and merciful to everyone who is not saved. Yet Jesus was very rude to the Pharisee.

Matthew 23:33
“You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell?

Shouldn’t we rebuke in love and use kind words? That is why I say most Christians are confused about what they think they understand when they read the bible.

1. 7. God told us not to kill

Exodus 20:13 (New International Version)

13 “You shall not murder.

Yet he told Saul to kill all the Amalekites.

1 Samuel 15:3 (New International Version)

3 Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy everything that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys.’ “

1. 8. We all know now that the world is not flat. Yet the Devil took Jesus and showed him the whole world which is not possible from any high position since man can not see around a sphere.

Matthew 4:8 (New International Version)

8Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor.

1. 9. The proverbs even have conflicting words for us to use as in this case. So to answer a fool or not is the question, here, which one should we use dear Christian when we encounter a fool?

Proverbs 26:4
Do not answer a fool according to his folly, or you will be like him yourself.

Proverbs 26:5
Answer a fool according to his folly, or he will be wise in his own eyes.

The bible as it is presented is full of contradiction. In the above simple cases if we should use the scripture verse by itself, we would be confused. So then, which one should we use since the bible is the word of God and every word in it is true. But again, have you ever read the bible carefully to notice these contradictions. If we were to use scripture every time we feel its right from our human mind, then we would be exercising charismatic witchcraft since we pick and choose the verse from our own understanding. Yet who could blame any young Christian from moving with their human mind since this is all they know when they first became a Christian.

If we use the letter without the Spirit, we would be guilty of divination. Unless the scripture is opened to us by the Holy Spirit, we would not be using the right word in season and since the bible contains many contradictions it would be similar to pagan book of divination where there are blessings and curses as well. This is why we can not use scripture by quoting verses we like, however, it was told to us by Jesus that, the Holy Spirit will remind us of what he had taught us.

John 14:26
But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

Many don’t understand nor give any thoughts to this verse which says the Holy Spirit will remind us of everything that Jesus had said to them. It’s the Holy Spirit who can and will quicken the scripture to remind us exactly when we should use the right verse to focus for the right occasion. Such is the mystery of the bible being the word of God and it’s a living word because it’s alive and will speak when it’s quickened by the Spirit. Truth and Spirit must come together as one key to open the eyes of our understanding.

The Holy Spirit is the guide and teacher for all true believers. Others who move by their own understanding become an abomination to the word of God. Since, they use the wrong verse at the wrong time; and, so it does not produce any victory but produce the reverse which is disaster. During the time of Moses, when God caused the manna to fall from heaven, he told them not to keep the manna for the next day as it could not be eaten, similarly when the word of God is in season and it produces life. But once it is not in season, it produces disaster for the user. That is why God said his word and mercy is fresh every morning. So there are many Christians who were sincerely wrong when they applied scripture which is out of season. This is the same case as a prophetic lies which was uttered by Hannaniah during the times of Jeremiah.

If the word is not ordained by God at that moment in time, he has no responsibility to fulfill his word even though it is 100% biblical and theologically correct. If God did not say he would not do, since he did not made any covenant with you for your situation. Even when Man of God said something which God did not say, nothing would happen to bring blessings upon that person receiving the word. This is God and that is his ways. No one can force God to comply with scripture because it was written in the bible, no one. God can not be held ransom else he is not Omnipotent at all. That is why I said many times over that we can not name and claim the blessings of God as he will not honor any word of the bible unless he made that promise to you personally.

I had read Isaiah 45:3 many times over and I still didn’t receive the treasures of darkness, until one day it quickened unto my spirit man and I received the word as his promise. From then onwards, I was able to detect in my spirit unseen spiritual powers around me. Treasure of darkness refers to occult secrets in high places and without this spiritual discernment you would be walking blindly in defilement without realizing it, as it is foolishness to the natural man. God must approve and bless you with this gift before you can really possess it.

Isaiah 45:3 (New International Version)

3 I will give you the treasures of darkness,
riches stored in secret places,
so that you may know that I am the LORD,
the God of Israel, who summons you by name.

Numbers 23:19

God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?

That is why many Christians are in deep delusion and imagining having the power of God in their lives when in reality they don’t. So that sometimes God comes and sometimes he doesn’t and they couldn’t explain why. We are all normal beings and why should we think we are special just because some preacher says we are highly loved and deeply favored, doesn’t make us so. Gideon had to test what God had said before he believed and I think he was very wise to do that. He made sure it was God who called him to do the things which God wanted him to do.
